The first season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 has been a mixed bag for different franchises. While some have performed exceptionally well, others have struggled to find their footing. The Mumbai Indians (MI-W) led by Harmanpreet Kaur have been exceptional in the tournament, winning all four matches they have played so far.

MI-W has been dominant in every game they have played and are among the top favorites to win the coveted inaugural title. They won their first game against the Gujarat Giants (GUJ-W) and continued their winning streak with comprehensive victories against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, and UP Warriorz.

In the upcoming 12th match of the tournament, they will once again take on the Gujarat Giants. On the other hand, the Giants have had a tough time in the tournament, winning only a single game against Royal Challengers Bangalore out of the four they have played.

The Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai is known for its batting-friendly pitch, which could result in a high-scoring game. The team batting first will aim to score a big total, while the bowlers will need to be at their best to restrict the opposition.

He stated that the insufficient number of Tests being played will not be beneficial for Sri Lanka in the long run. Mathews highlighted his concern about Sri Lanka playing a Test match after a gap of more than six months, as it makes it difficult for the players to get accustomed to a particular routine before preparing for any series. During the first Test against New Zealand in Christchurch, Mathews scored 47 runs and surpassed the 7,000-run mark in Tests. After the game, he expressed his desire for the national side to have more opportunities to play Test matches in the future. Sri Lanka still has a chance to reach the World Test Championship final, with Australia being the only team that has already qualified. The chances for India depend on the outcome of the ongoing fourth and final Test taking place in Ahmedabad against Australia ...
