Australia and England are two of the major cricketing nations in the world.  Their rivalry has been put on demonstration a number of times in the highly famous and entertaining Ashes. The two countries will play against each other in the Ashes from 16th June to 31st July. 2023.

Here, we will be taking a look at the top 3 Australia vs England matches of all-time:

3. Edgbaston 2005

This was an extremely narrow win by England as they won this match by 2 runs. It seemed like Australia would win the Ashes in 2005, looking at the way they dominated the entire series. But in a drastic turn of events, England managed a memorable win. However, in the next  2006/07 Ashes, Australia staged their revenge by whitewashing England.

2. Headingley 1981

Another astonishing comeback by England took place at Headingley in 1981. The English side became the side to win a Test after a follow-on. Players like Bob Willis, Graham Dilley and Ian Botham played a significant role in handing England an exhilarating victory.

1.  1932/33 Ashes

This was undoubtedly not just the most entertaining Ashes, but also the most brutal Ashes. It was Douglas Jardine who asked his bowlers to indulge in aggressive and hostile bowling which would result in the batsmen being hit badly on their bodies. England went on to win that Ashes, but 40 years later, Australia managed to get their revenge by attacking the English batsmen with their bowling attack, which also broke the hands of two Australian batsmen.

During the first Test against New Zealand in Christchurch, Mathews scored 47 runs and surpassed the 7,000-run mark in Tests. After the game, he expressed his desire for the national side to have more opportunities to play Test matches in the future. Sri Lanka still has a chance to reach the World Test Championship final, with Australia being the only team that has already qualified. The chances for India depend on the outcome of the ongoing fourth and final Test taking place in Ahmedabad against Australia ...
